This starter kit contains all the materials you need to get started with acid dyeing yarn - without the hassle and high costs.

This kit includes protective gear, dye powder and yarn in an amount that gives you plenty of opportunity to experiment and find your favorite colors. The dye powder is very generous in use, and the amount in this kit is equivalent to dyeing between 16 and 21 100g skeins of yarn (1.6-2.1 kg yarn) – perfect for both small and large projects.

The Color Starter Kit contains:

• A pair of safety glasses
• 6 pairs of disposable gloves (size M)
• 1x dust mask
• 1 dl citric acid (powder)
• A printed color guide
• 8 bags of 4g dye powder – enough for 16-21 yards of yarn depending on dyeing method and intensity.
• Yarn, either Merino Single or Twisted Sock

The yarn in the starter kit:
You can choose from different yarn packages and tailor your kit to work with many small skeins, a few large ones, or a mix. This gives you great flexibility to try out multiple techniques.

In the starter kit you can also choose between two yarn qualities: Twisted Sock and Merino Single - two yarn qualities that combine all the good things; they are easy to work with, take dye well and after dyeing are also incredibly lovely to knit in.

The colors in the starter kit:
The colors in the kit are the 8 primary colors as standard, which in addition to being beautiful, also allow you to mix a multitude of shades. If you have specific color requests, you can write them as a comment to your order, and I will do my best to accommodate them - however, some colors may be sold out at times.

Other relevant:
In addition to the materials provided, I recommend that you have an old pot or dish to heat the yarn in, as well as a few forks and spoons. These can be found cheaply at a thrift store if you don't have them at home. Make sure that the equipment that comes into direct contact with the dye powder is not used for cooking afterwards.
